Hi everyone,

today I am going to share a few good reasons on why we need to enjoy the spring and summer season! – The season that uplifts our physical and mental health! I wrote this with the help from my sister (Meha) who is a psychology student at Uni.

Blooming flowers, clear blue sky, warm weather, and drinks are something everyone enjoys… we are generally in a much better mood. According to Professor Peter, Bio-psychology expert “Human beings are programmed to rest when it’s dark, and to be active and in high spirits when it’s light’’. Thus, Spring naturally makes us feel energised. Thanks to the warm cosy sun’s rays…

Whether you start walking, gardening, biking, or even bollywood dancing outdoor, these are ways to help improve physical and mental health... you could also do you yoga keeping the curtains open in the morning, allowing the rays of the sun falls on you. Start basic….

Some researchers have found that smelling flowers or even pulling up weeds from the soil can decrease blood pressure, increase brain activity, and produce a sense of wellbeing. Along with diet, regular exercise is an important factor in improved mental health.

We draw Vitamin D from sun’s rays. Vitamin D deficiency leads to aching bones, brain fog and low moods. So, when the sun is out…. Enjoy your day out in the sunshine and get your natural vitamin D boost!

Sleep is very important for all of us. Staying outdoors and doing physical exercise recharges your body and aids in sleeping well.

Remember, the mind and the body are not separate, what affects one affects the other! Spring is the season of colours, hope and energy. It is a good time to enjoy nature and keep ourselves physically and mentally healthy.  It is such a beautiful season, get out and enjoy the sun! (source internet)
